Granier’s history involves the love of a product, respect for tradition and a vocation for service

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Granier has its origins in the neighborhood bakery; that is the root of our brand which is all about local commerce and the baker’s trade. Granier’s predecessor Horno la Estrella opened in 1988. The business grew and new bakeries opened. The company became a bakery expert and developed its own business model.

Granier, established as a brand in 2010, defines itself as a company with no ceiling whose heart smells of fresh bread.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Granier we take the view that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. We like the old-style neighborhood bakery, people who prioritize quality and customer service. When you enter a bakery, you should smell bread and see lots of beautiful, crusty golden loaves on the shelves. We want local folk to drop in every day, spend a while with us appreciating and enjoying our quality products, and to feel at home and well looked after.

Our modus operandi reflects who we are, and we want our way of seeing things to be palpable in everything we do.

With close to 2,000 employees and three central kitchens, Granier is a large company currently operating all over Spain with over 350 bakeries and turnover in excess of 50 million euros per year. With an international presence in world-renowned cities such as London, Miami, Lisbon and Rome, Granier is a global brand that has experienced spectacular growth in recent years. Its recipe for success has been to create and maintain a company at the forefront of innovation which is both appealing and turns a profit.

2010 - OUR FIRST GRANIER


The first Granier store is established in Vilanova i La Geltrú by Juan Pedro Conde.

2013 - HELLO, AMERICA!


We cross the Atlantic and open our first store in Miami.

2014 - 200 STORES!


We open our 200th store in Burriana (Valencia).

2014 - OLÁ, PORTUGAL!


Our first Lisbon establishment opens for business.

2014 - SALVE ITALIA!


We touch down in Italy with the launch of our first bakery in Rome.

2015 - HELLO UK!


London boasts the first Granier bakery in the UK.

2015 - INVESTING FOR GROWTH


Granier puts 1.2 million euros into its first central kitchen in the Canary Islands, the third in Spain.

2016 - 1ST BUSINESS CONVENTION


Granier organizes its first business convention in Barcelona. The event is a hit.

2016 - 300 BAKERIES AND COUNTING!


We open our 300th branch in Spain.

2017 - NEW AND MODERN HEAD OFFICE


We open a new head office in Vilanova i la Geltrú with twice the space.

2017 - GROWING OUR NETWORK IN THE US


Granier buys the Miami-based “La Provence” chain to continue its growth across the US.

2017 - NEW PRODUCTS


We completely revamp our line with new product ranges: Sourdough and Bread for Wellbeing.
